About Membership

The Sutton Town Democratic Committee (DTC) is an official local body governed by the Massachusetts Democratic Party Charter and state election law. Like the Sutton Republican Town Committee (RTC), we follow the same structural and procedural guidelines, including the process for electing members and officers.

Our committee was recently re-established after a period of inactivity, in accordance with state party rules. As a result, current officers and members are serving in interim roles and will appear on the ballot for formal election during the next Democratic Presidential Primary in 2028.

The committee is allowed up to 35 elected members, and we have not yet reached that capacity. We also welcome an unlimited number of associate members—community members who are actively involved but do not hold voting rights. While only elected members may vote on official matters, anyone is welcome to attend meetings and participate in upcoming social or community events. Membership is not required.

As an official town body, a current roster of members and officers is on file with the Sutton Town Clerk. Those seeking this information may inquire directly with the clerk’s office. This process mirrors that of the Sutton RTC, which, like us, has not published a membership list online. We appreciate respectful engagement and remind all residents that transparency and participation are consistent standards for all local political committees—not unique to one. We will also note that recent acts of vandalism on public members’ personal property forces us to limit personal information to what’s required by law.

Please respect our members’ privacy. Any attempts at harassment, vandalism, or other threats have been and will continue to be reported to law enforcement.

We hope to continue building a welcoming, active, and thoughtful community presence. If you’re interested in getting involved, we encourage you to attend a meeting and say hello.
